Educational Philosophy: Our Aims and Objectives

1. To teach students to develop creativity, individuality and an international mind.
2. To teach students to have consideration and tolerance.
3. To teach students to be self-disciplined, have rich personalities, and strive to reach their potential.
4. To teach students to be sound in body and mind and to have the will to work hard.

Origin of the School’s Emblem

The name "Kashiwa" derives from the name "Kashiba". "Kashiba" was originally a port on the Tone River. "Kashiba" later became "Kashiwa" and adopted a Chinese character meaning "oak" to represent the city.
The Kashiwa Municipal High School emblem, three oak leaves arranged in a radial fashion, was designed based off of a Daimyo's family crest, the Kashiwa Oak.
The Kashiwa is a species of oak tree native to Japan, a deciduous tree that grows up to 15 meters in height.  Since the Manyo Period of Japan, the Kashiwa leaf has been used in a number of fashions, from food to implements in religious ceremonies celebrating the god of the Kashiwa tree.
Each of the three leaves on the school emblem signifies growth of knowledge, morality and physical strength, which ultimately epitomizes the hopes of higher education.

School Song (in Japanese)

Songwriting by Hachidai NAKAMURA
